الجواب
يجوز المسح على الجوربين إذا كانا ساترين للقدمين والكعبين، كما يجوز المسح على الخفين إذا لبس الجوربين والخفين على طهارة كاملة، يوما وليلة للمقيم، وثلاثة أيام بلياليها للمسافر، بدءا من المسح الأول بعد الحدث؛ لأنه قد صح عن النبي ﷺ في الأحاديث الصحيحة ما يدل على ذلك.

How is wiping over socks performed, and what are its conditions?
Answer
Wiping over socks is permissible if they cover the feet and ankles, just as wiping over leather footwear is permissible, provided the socks or leather footwear were put on after complete purification. The period is one day and night for a resident and three days and nights for a traveller, beginning with the first wiping after losing ritual purity. Authentic hadiths from the Prophet ﷺ establish this.
