Original question

A listener asks the programme: Is brokerage lawful or unlawful—that is, the intermediary's work in arranging agreement between the seller and the buyer?

Answer

There is no harm in that. The broker is the sales intermediary: selling someone's camels, cattle, sheep, produce or clothing for him entails no harm, nor does selling land or other things. He is called a dallāl, a sales intermediary; there is no harm in it, and that is the broker. Yes.

Presenter: May Allah grant you good and bless you, Your Eminence.
