Original Q&A · Full displayed answer
This concerns expressing the meaning of the pilgrimage stipulation discussed immediately beforehand. It is not a general permission to rewrite prescribed devotional wording, and it does not determine who should make the stipulation or its legal consequences.

Original question
Esteemed Shaykh, must someone making a stipulation use the wording reported from the Messenger ﷺ, or may he stipulate using any words that express what he means?
Answer
He is not required to use the reported wording, because this is not something in which worship is tied to the exact wording. Where worship is not tied to the exact wording, expressing the meaning is sufficient.
