Original question

Shaykh al-Islām was asked: What does our master say about someone fasting Ramadan: does each day require an intention or not?

Answer

Everyone who knows that tomorrow is a day of Ramadan and wishes to fast it has already intended to fast it, whether or not he states the intention aloud. This is what Muslims generally do: they all intend to fast.
