Selected explanation
This seeking a means [of drawing near to Allah] through faith in him [the Messenger] and obedience to him is obligatory upon everyone, inwardly and outwardly, during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, and after his death, in his presence and in his absence. Seeking a means through faith in him and obedience to him does not cease to be obligatory upon anyone of creation in any circumstance after the proof has been established against him, nor on account of any excuse.
