Selected explanation
Muʿāwiyah ibn ʿAmr narrated from Abū Isḥāq al-Fazārī, from al-Awzāʿī, who said: “Faith is not sound without speech; faith and speech are not sound without deeds; and faith, speech, and deeds are not sound without an intention that accords with the Sunnah. Those of our predecessors who have passed on did not separate faith from deeds: deeds belong to faith, and faith belongs to deeds.”
